Paul Kennedy has over 40 years experience as a qualified shipwright. In his early days, Paul worked on Marinas around Sydney doing freelance work on modifying and fitout of boats. He worked for Bashford Boats (now Sydney Yachts) for 13 years in development, specialising in plug and mould making.
Kennedy Shipwrights was established in Nowra by Paul in 19XX. During this period, as well as boat maintenance Kennedy Shipwrights established its own AVOR20s and launched a line of Terrara 18 boats.
Today Kennedy Shipwrights manages the Greenwell Point slipway for Council and operates a full boat workshop at Bangalee. Between these facilities Kennedys services a boat-owner’s needs throughout the lifecycle of any vessel. Services range from slipping and haulage, cleaning, maintenance, repair and refit through to more extensive design and development work, boat building, fibreglass repairs, plug and mould making, mechanical, plumbing and electrical services.
Additionally, Kennedy Shipwrights has applied its design and construction expertise, from decades of building sea-going vessels, to the building of helicopter simulators used in the training of Defence and emergency services personnel.
