With decades of experience building ocean-going vessels, Kennedys has applied these same skills and expertise to the construction of helicopter simulators for use in the training of Defence and emergency services personnel.
Our helicopter simulators are built to exactly replicate the real-life craft in size, weight and centre of gravity to ensure accurate training. Features include:
- full hydraulic motion, operated from onboard touchpads, for simulating take off, landing, level flight, bank left and bank right
- rotors, boom and wing are true to size and shape and turn and fold on the same axis as the live aircraft
- hydraulic rear doors and ramp with switching
- full three-channel comms compatible with Army flight helmets and switching and port locations as per live aircraft
- accurate cabin, door and exit lighting
- full crew seating in the same alternating location settings with 4-point harnesses
- pilot and co-pilot seating in the cockpit
- electric rescue winch
- colour-rated tie-down points, plus fueling and earthing points and wheel brakes
Six video cameras record training exercises, providing scope for accurate analysis of results. Additionally, simulators also include the real-to-life sound of in-flight noise and blackout curtains to allow for night training.
